I’ve got two networks in my house. My home network, which has 4 automounts, 3 are AFP mounts (Library, Applications, Software) and Users network NFS mount. My other network is my company’s VPN network. I have one computer that I need to switch back and forth.

The problem I have is when I switch from the home network to the work network. My computer locks up – in older versions of OS X, it would come back after about 5 minutes of thrashing around trying to find the automounts. With OS 10.4.4 it locks up and has to be rebooted. I’ve played with killing the automount before switching, but this seems to be a kludge. Currently I reboot and switch networks during reboot.

Any ideas/suggestions for a cleaner transfer would be greatly appreciated.
