Stub network/VLAN

Greetings All,

I am getting ready to bring my Xserve to the colo facility and after reading MacTroll’s “A True Tale of an XServe install” I feel pretty well prepared.

I have run into one unclear part. Where the article says:

[QUOTE] Also set up a private network in the GUI that just encompasses your stub network. That way only your traffic going to the server will go through the VPN, instead of everything coming out of your client machine.[/QUOTE]

I am interpreting this as set up a private network on the CLIENT machine in the GUI. On the SERVER side of things, if I understand correctly I am using the Network Control Panel to set up the VLAN with this stub network information.

Am I reading this correctly?
