Even with the method posted here: https://www.afp548.com/article.php?story=20110730045914590, has anyone been able to use NetRestore (not NetInstall) to lay down a Lion image on a system (whether created by SIU, InstaDMG, or other) that they can then enable FileVault on?
No matter what I try, I get an error when enabling FileVault that it’s not supported on my disk format and I should install OS X on a reformatted disk if I want to use FileVault. My latest attempt has been to use a NetInstall image over the network to install a system with a valid Recovery partition, and then use a NetRestore image to replace the main partition (leaving the Recovery partition intact), but I still get the same error.
Lion must be tracking some information about the Recovery partition somewhere within the main image…
