We have a OS 10.2.8 server which is strictly responsible for sharing files out to the prepress department. It provides no other services whatsoever.
A week ago, we switched out our main Windows server to prepare for a new software package we are installing. At that time, we also re-did the whole IP structure for the building. I had inherited from the previous IT guy an internal network that had a routable class A scheme. I changed it to a 10. scheme. Everything got a new IP address, including the Mac server.
Now, since the IP scheme change, our Macs (both OS 9 and OS X) all pause simultaneously like they are trying to talk to the server and can’t. This was happening about every ten minutes and I suspected some lingering setting on the server.
The only thing I could find was “Server Monitor” was trying to access the old Mac server IP address. I fixed that and now the pauses are less frequent, but still occurring.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Eric
