spamassassin bouncing local mail

I recently upgraded my server to 10.4.11 and it apparently broke spamassassin/amavis. I recall having this problem a long time ago but I cannot find my notes or what I did to fix it (the upgrade probably overwrote a config file somewhere). How do I stop amavis and/or spamassassin from bouncing mail from my own domain? To my way of thinking it shouldn’t even be checking it. TIA.
