    So I have a Tiger server running 10.4.2 and its doing Mail with Spam Assassin, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I have two domains and one domain gets a lot of spam. Well it doesn’t catch one thing (even when I adjust the threshold), but the virus scanning does work, it catches all of those.

    I had Spam Assassin installed and working before the Tiger upgrade, I’m wondering if that is causing it not to work. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this?

    Hmmm, I don’t see anything domain related in that file. I can’t even find much of any thing related to SPAM Assassin, except for section VII and there are not many domain settings there. Can someone post a sample file, so I can take a peak?

    Well looking closer at this my Junk mail log… it shows the emails getting scanned, but no hits are taking place. Even where there should be hits. I’ll keep pluging away

    I’m having the same problem here on an upgraded 10.3 server which ran SpamAssassin. I manually ran sa-learn on over 16,000 emails that I keep around for just such occasion, and still we haven’t had one email get marked up, though every email is getting scanned as evidenced by the added headers.

    If you are running virtual domains you need to modify /etc/amavisd.conf
    Search for @local_domains_acl = …….
    and add:
    @local_domains_maps = ( 1 );
    below it
