In your AD, just make sure the Computer accounts have at least read access to the User Accounts. It’s easy to do. If you want to do it per users, just go in the properties of the user, select the “Security” tab, and add read access to “Domain Computers”.

I had lots of trouble to find this. I hope this will be added to the wonderful doc by Joel.

(BTW: The registration system on the website doesn’t seems to send me instructions nor password)

How do you add the computer accounts so that they have read access to the User Accounts. I was having the problem where I would lock up and dump to console because the home directories weren’t accessable. Then i saw your post.

I added it ‘per user’ and it fixed everything. However I would rather not have have to do that for all of the users.

Just do a right click on your User accounts OU and set the privileges to read for computer account. Then, I think in “Advanced” there is a way to replicate privs to the hierarchy.

    🙂 Hope it helps.
