How do you get a remote console to your Apple servers?
I have been playing around with ipmitool for a couple of days and have been able to get SOL working… sort of. In 10.5 it looks like you have to change a lot of defaults to get it working, however once you have initiated an SOL connection, any key-press generates onscreen messages making it difficult to do anything useful.
In 10.6 client, it seems as if ipmitool has been replaced with networksetup… compiling ipmitool doesn’t seem to work properly to connect.
I do not yet have a 10.6 server to play with, but I’m hoping Serial Over Lan actually works.
