Software Update Server Slowdown

Hi all,
having had a thoroughly useful SU server running for a month or so, it has all of a sudden slowed right down to a crawl. Its quicker to use the Apple servers (even on a 2Mb connection) than it is across our 10/100 network.

This slowdown seems to have happened after updating to 10.4.5 Server.
Anyone know a fix? Haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere else yet.

I had the issue that my sus reverted to
sus.local instead of the full dns name for whatever reason with the same update

check with the commandline client if your sus resolves right (DNS)

"softwareupdate -l"

mine could find the CatalogURL but not the distribution pkgs
