I thought i’d post here and see if anyone has done this.
I have some Xserve’s with the Software Update feature in OSX Server which works nicely if I manually set the Software Update server on a clients machine.
In the environment that i work in it is impractical to set every powerbook to a Software Update server, most of our traffic when a software update is released is GB in total.
I have a Netcache that all users are WCCP through before connecting to the web, a request to swscan.apple.com seems to be made.
I can direct this server to my Xserve but the problem is i believe i will need to set a local directory where the files are stored.

Has anyone does this before ?
I know the files are placed in /usr/share/swupd/ but to save some leg work has anyone had success doing this before ?
