Strange problem here… we’ve got at least two v10.3.5 servers showing this issue.
We’re finding that adding or taking away Share Points in Workgroup Manager is not then amending smb.conf. Permissions seem to be ok. No error messages anywhere in system.log. Manually editing smb.conf is a workaround. It’s like something is broken in servermgrd_smb (the little guy who manages smb.conf) OR the NetInfo local database is corrupt.
I’ve tried posting all on Apple Discussions. I’ve emailed Apple Tech Support. Searched the web. Nothing positive back yet.
Any ideas folks?
I’m unable to recreate this problem with fresh installs or upgrades from Jaguar server. Both of the problem server previously ran Jaguar and were upgraded.
