    i have a OD master with 10,000 accounts. another machine (Stu) is part of the directory domain and with an xraid holding home folders.

    i use afp and smb to login kids to their home folders. anytime i turn on smb service the server just dies over time. we have needed to restart it 2-3 times a day. afp afocourse works fine. smb connections amx has been 40. afp 120. any clues. called apple. no help.

    the history of having the OD master also act as a PDC controller was also a disaster. no more pdc.
