We have a Windows SBS 2003 server. When a mac 10.4.7 copies files over to it they sometimes get an ERROR -41. It happens on random files of different sizes. It seems to be when the file size is large it happens more often.

We copied the same folder to an XP pro machine and the issue didn’t occure. I have tried changing the lanmanserver registry setting on the SBS 2003 server.

All SMB signing is disabled etc?

    Any ideas?

How are you mounting the shares? I had a similar problem with InDesign CS 1.3 ( v. 3.0.3). MY problem was the shares were set up as automounts. However they were dynamic (ie mounted on demand in /Network/Servers/). I tried changing them over to static (ie. always mounted in /Network/) and it solved my problems. I never had an issue with finder mounts (ie. cmd+K or Finder>Go>Go To Server).

    Hope that helps.

We are mounting the NTFS shares via SMB:\\ I have tried everything to fix this.

    NTFS
The console on the mac shows
SMB_mapper32: no drirect map 32 bit server error (0xc000205)

    Created new shares
    Created new users
    Ran CHKSK on the server

What is error -41? Out of memory? Could the files on the mac be corrupt? We get this on EVERY mac.
