    Hi,
We have a mac os x server 10.2.6 authenticating against a windows 2000 active directory server. Mac users (afp) authenticate fine, as do ftp and every protocol except smb. It seems that windows clients can only connect to the mac share if they are listed in the local netinfo database. We had smb working and it inexplicably stopped. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey MacTroll,

I have been trying to setup Samba on my OS X 10.2.6 Server to pass authentication off to Active Directory, but I’m having trouble joining to the domain.

I have added our WINS server to the .nsmbrc file & read over all the documentation of Samba.

My attempt to make OS X’s LDAP talk to AD failed too.

It seems that finding people who have achieved this is very hard. Either they make it sound easy, or there is no report of their troubles.

Any info anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!
