    Hello all-

    My company has a heterogeneous Video Production environment. We have a Leopard Server/Promise RAID/Xsan.

    We have FCP files larger than 2GB… We are attempting to share these files to Windows XP clients that are connecting to the Xserve via. SMB. Although they can connect to the Xserve, they are prohibited file exchange with these files due to the SMB 2GB file size limit. Is there an answer to this problem? Could I eliminate this problem by opening NFS from the Xserve, install NFS clients onto the Windows stations, then connect to the share over NFS??

    Please let me know your thoughts and experiences…

    Thanks to all who contribute!!

    Here is what I experience:

    Upgrade from Tiger 10.4.11 to 10.6.0 (DVD), then doing the updates to 10.6.2
    All discs/san mounted as they should. AFP works fine in all aspect.

    Using SMB:
    From mac, connected via SMB;

    files less than 2gb all fine
    files more than 2gb quicklook will not work, copy will not work( breaks at 2gb), QT will not open files
    Same happens on PC when connected.

    Lucky for me, I had a clone of the old tiger, and could restart from that one. And all was fine again.
