We have many users that are having VERY slow Pref and File syncing during login/logout.
An example: One user’s 20MB Document folder is taking 30min’s to sync. We can take the iMac and plug directly into the switch next to the server and get the same result.

However, if we log in as admin and delete the Mobile account on the local computer and then login as that same user the sync takes 3 min’s

Why would this be? What is going on with the mobile accounts?

    Thanks for any help!

Examine the file sync logs, the logs can get big and have an effect on file sync performance. If in doubt delete them.

    Also:
    1. I’ve seen problems associated with ACLs. If you don’t need ACLs on home directories/user directories, don’t use them. (This gave me Error -41 on Time Machine sync, too.)
    2. Another thing to do is delete the .FileSync directories on both mobile and server. The next sync will take a long time, but I’ve seen good speed-up after that reset.
