    hi

I’m administrating a small Mac network with about 10 clients, and i’m in the progress of porting to Mac OS X.
I have the Mac OS X server up and running. (v. 10.2.1) and two os X clients for testing.
I would like to create a shared address book, residing on the server, for the clients to access, containing all our customer contacts etc. The clients should be able to add/delete contacts. Can this be done using the system Address Book? if so, how?
    I have read:
    https://www.afp548.com/Articles/Jaguar/ldapcontact.html
But that is not what I want. The article describes how I can share the emails etc. for the registred users on the network.

    thanks,
    (great website, keep it up)

Thanks a lot Joel for the quick answer.
I was in a hurry and didn’t complete my registration.

I will check out the suggested article, and also I will try to contact apple on the matter. I’m a little amazed that this feature should be so hard to implement. I will post what I find out regarding this problem.

    Cheers

I’m also looking for a way to do this. I was heartened by the directory access app, which has a tab in the NetInfo configuration called “Contacts”… It seems that along with Address book we should be able to set up network shared contacts… I have _really_ novice users who wouldn’t be too keen on having to learn a new app just after I’ve gotten them used to using Address book.. Has anybody posted anything like this to the Apple Discussion forums?

    thanks,
