    Hi!

    Suddenly the fileserver became sloooooow… And the process servermgrd showed 140% CPU. Tried to kill and the restart the process, but then the server stalled. Rebooting the hard way while 60 user screaming at me (filecheck can take some time). Running Xserve 10.4.4 with network homefolders, external RAID (1 TCool. Any help appreciated!

    This has been a pretty constant problem with servermgrd for a bunch of people. The Apple support forums have a number of complaints about this. I finally started killing and restarting the process once a week, and then I increased it to once a day. I’ve got some instructions here:

    Also seems like if you keep an instance of Server Admin connected to the server it can spawn this problem.
