Hi all.

I’m trying to build an image with almost all update, specially with the big and important ones like the security update. When i add the sec.update, with intel (180Mb) or just Leopard (what does that mean? 65MB) the image is unusable. When i start a freshly imaged computer it gets stuck very early, just behind loading the usb-exts if i remember right.

Is there any trick to get by this?

thx

Having the same issue.

BaseOS: 10.5
OS X10.5.4 Combo Update
OSX 10.5.5

works fine

Adding Security Update 2008-006 kills it. Or better it gets stuck early in the process (indeed the usb-exts).

10.5.5 includes security updates that are addressed in Security Update 2008-006 (Apple KBase article HT3137). Searching Apple’s KBase for “Security Update 2008-006” returns:

Security Update 2008-006 Server (PPC)
Security Update 2008-006 Server (Universal)
Security Update 2008-006 Client (Intel)
Security Update 2008-006 Client (PPC)

All of these are for 10.4.11. If you’re applying a standalone Security Update 2008-006 over 10.5.x, you’re applying an update for 10.4.11 on 10.5. In a perfect world, the install should fail. In an imperfect world, the install succeeds but destroys your image. Apply 10.5.5 and you’ll have all the security enhancements in Security Update 2008-006.
