scutil – Can You use this in the InstaDMG lineup?

I was trying to set the hostname using the scutil command (payloadless package). When it boots up for the first time, it doesn’t have the name set.

Any ideas why it is not working? It works great when the machine is booted up, but it seems it isn’t working in my lineup.

scutil only operates on the currently booted volume, so you can’t use it to change things on the InstaDMG diskimage.

Once Karl gets the the whole chroot stuff working 100%, it _might_ work, but I wouldn’t count on it.
