SASLDB testing

hello i have been hoping to get some help to solve this problem.

i having some authentication problems with postfix.

here’s what my logs indicate with both imap and pop.

imapd imap service init from 192.168.1.25
imapd Logout user=??? host=[192.168.1.25]

ipop3d Logout user=allena host=[192.168.1.25]

when i telnet to 127.0.0.0.1 25
i get everything coming up fine including
250-AUTH DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5

i also have a line that states 250-SIZE but without any values.

any ideas?

i was able to telnet to using pop and imap but can not login.

i must be missing something basic here.
if i turn off authentication then all works well.

okay so i got some information today that i believe is causing the problem.

this might help some others so i am posting this.

i used postfix enabler to turn on postfix, imap, pop and sasldb

i then installed the clamav and amavisd according to the article here which i believe configures cyrus.

if this is the case this could be my problem. if anyone knows how i can debug this i would be gratefull.

if not i will be doing a clean install without postfix enabler.
