Rolling the serial number into the Office08 install

How is everyone doing this? I did a quick search online and found no quick answers, I also looked through the Plists inside the package and found no help there. Currently Office08 is being deployed on a per request basis by having our techs go to the user with a disc and a compiled applescript that inputs the serial number as it goes.
I would rather not repack the whole thing if I can avoid it, but if there is no other way……

We have a volume license that already has the serial number built into the installer. So it’s really no big deal. Aside from the damn setup assistant.
