I’m running InstaDMG through InstaUp2Date using a catalog file that’s always worked in the past, and now I get this error message.

    16:11:28 ###### InstaDMG build initiated ######
InstaDMG version 1.6rc1 (svn revision: 388)
Host OS: Mac OS X Server 10.6.4
    Host Hardware: MacPro4,1
    .dmg Output file name: FacStaff.dmg
    Output disk name: Macintosh HD
is not recognized by the Apple installer ######
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File “./instaUp2Date.py”, line 716, in
    main()
File “./instaUp2Date.py”, line 705, in main
    thisController.runInstaDMG(scratchFolder=options.instadmgScratchFolder, outputFolder=options.instadmgOutputFolder)
File “./instaUp2Date.py”, line 472, in runInstaDMG
raise RuntimeError(‘InstaDMG process did not run sucessfully’)
RuntimeError: InstaDMG process did not run sucessfully

    Any ideas?

Does changing the output disk name work? Do any svn revs between 388 and 405 work? Could you post your debug log as well, please?
Oh, and this isn’t a production server, is it?

This is a prod server but I’ve used it in the past (I know it’s not recommended but since it also hosts deploystudio and ARD and all the PKG files, it’s just so much easier than to copy all the PKG files onto a test box that keeps getting reimaged every other day)

That being said here’s the debug log

ISO language code en not recognized? That’s a new one.

Commenting out that line has gotten InstaUp2Date to work. Very weird stuff.

Definitely weird, hopefully the future googlers will add a comment to point out the solution. What is the build on the disk you’re trying to import? What language is the booted system using? Thanks for reporting back, btw.

Also worth noting, iLife 9.0.4 support will not install correctly on OS X Server when using the iLife09.catalog file. Mboylan confirmed this.
