I’m a high school tech coordinator with a need to figure out how to replicate an OD master to a different domain. Our school moodle runs on a TLD external server authenticating against an OS X Server 10.6 OD master on a sister server. Works great. However, I’d like to have our internal server (a totally different domain) replicate against this OD master so I can have our kids login with the same credentials on the computers in the school that are members of our local OS X Server 10.6 OD. I’m more than willing to wipe the local OD and start over (we’re early into the new year and we don’t really have much yet in mobile home directories that can’t be backed up and restored). However, I have had zero luck getting the local server to talk to our TLD external server successfully. I assume this is because they’re totally different domains. Any thoughts? Am I crazy to try to replicate across domains?
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.
