Replacing SSL Certificates

I know there was an article posted a while ago titled, “Importing updated certificate requires previous to be first deleted” by anonymous. Even with VeriSign’s Managed PKI program, it can still take half to a full day to get a new cert. We have a couple network services that are authenticating users via LDAP and they require a valid signed cert.

Does anyone know of a method of generating a CSR and installing a new cert without deleting the existing one? Both certs would have the same CN.
