    Hello,

Using 10.5.4 clients and 10.5.4 server
We want to use the iMovie ’08 in one of our labs. In the past we were able to create a local folder, give rights to the group, and have them use it.

    1. In iMovie ’08 there seems to be no way to redirect the capture to a folder of our choice. I am hoping someone here can prove me wrong on this.

    2. When attempting a capture as a network user, we get the message about being unable to write to /iMovieEvents.localized So I created this folder and gave full write access to the group. I still got the same error. Checking the info on the folder verified that I had full access. So this folder doesn’t seem to be the problem, or at least writing to it is not really the problem. Does anyone know what this message is really pointing to? Might there be a ~ or . missing from the beginning of the path?

    3. I thought I would temporarily allow the group to write to the drive, run the capture, and see what folder was created. But I cannot find in Workgroup Manager how to do this anymore in the new version. Is this possible to do? I don’t want to chmod the whole drive. I am hoping to find what folder iMovie *is* using for network users and open up its permissions.

    4. We tried to solve the problem by creating a local, non-admin account on the machines for use by the class. However, after doing this, OD groups were not allowed to use Firefox or First Class (probably, any non-Apple app), even though they previously were able to do so. Removing the local account did not fix this. Eventually we had to re-image the machine. Does anyone have insight as to why this happened? We are newly upgraded to 10.5 server and I suspect we are tripping on new “features”

Thanks in advance to anyone able to offer some enlightenment.
