A client had an OS X 10.3 Server go down. Drive issues. Lots of directory problems were repaired, now the server will boot but will not login. It hangs at “Starting Login Window” both in the GUI and in Verbose mode. I have tried to repair by deleting preferences etc but no luck.. I can boot into single user mode.
My question. I have access to the hard drive if I boot from another device. My thought is this I can easily install OS X server again. Can I restore the users, groups, shares and mail if I have access to the files from the corrupted system and copy them correctly to the new system? There is no Open Directory backup file.
