Recent InstaUp2Date change causes –process to fail

Hey all,

I’m still looking into which revision this functionality broke on, but when instaUp2Date passes these flags:
[code]-f -n Macintosh HD -m 10.6.3-Padmin-FFox-Vanilla -K /tmp/InstaUp2DateFolder-d3eNve[/code]
I end up with a 3.1MB asr-scanned image.

I am not sure what part of my debug log might be of help, but just to confirm, running instadmg.bash works fine with the pkgs contained in the dmgs I’m passing via instaUp2Date, and all the flags I normally use like -t and -o.

Speaking of which, I still haven’t figured out how to pass the scratch disk and output location options via InstaUp2Date while using the –process flag. I also don’t think the option to designate where the cache or base OS images are has been built into the options passed by instaUp2Date yet, since I realize I use the same cached image options every time and don’t need that 5.5GB image on my SSD, since it only gets checked briefly early in the process and otherwise untouched.

I am not seeing a problem at this point. Don’t post partial commands, post the full setup otherwise it is not possible to re-create in troubleshooting. I would aslo dump your caches to make sure that you don’t have something odd there, and restart to make sure that you don’t have anything is-mounted. At this point InstaDMG does not handle it well when dmg’s are already mounted. I have thought about that a bit, but don’t have a better solution than just failing, and I don’t like doing that in the middle of a job. Partially because InstaDMG does not do a good job handling that at this point.

I am running another round right now to confirm, and then will run a cache-free round after that.

Hmmm, I’m not sure how best to post the full setup, the catalog file only has three customizations on top of a vanilla 10.6(firefox in third-party, and create user & clearreg in system settings.) I’m calling it with nothing other than –process, and this was after a reboot, it bailed early when I interrupted a earlier run so I made sure to restart. I reviewed the debug log extensively vs. the plain ‘pkgs in folders’ method, and it seems that each install is thinking its done early, (200 seconds early in the case of 10.6.3v1.1) and can’t remove the temp directories:

I have been having similar problems with rev 294 and for some previous ones. All of my non – DMG items for sure. None of the PKG’s or MPKG’s take more than 1/100th of a second to install, including Office 2008, which I think means nothing is happening. Here is the latest Debug log for this one. I am not sure if you wanted the whole debug log or not, it is quite long. One thingI noticed this showed, and I did not get in the terminal are the errors with the packages that I was referring too. So maybe it is helpful.

I should clarify, now that I think that there might be multiple issues happening. The Created disk image that gets created, (not being the full size) seems to have only showed up since build 292 (started), rev 291, the disk image, I think was the correct size. However, the installations that were not DMG’s did not get installed properly.
