I am trying to manually install Quicktime onto a Retail Image of Leopard. All other programs will install but I was wondering if someone could help me get around this error?

sudo installer -pkg Desktop/BaseUpdates/04/QuickTime755_Leopard.pkg -target /Volumes/macHD -verbose
installer: Cannot install on volume /Volumes/macHD because it is disabled.
installer: QuickTime can only be installed on the currently booted volume. To install QuickTime on a different volume, change your Startup Disk to that volume and restart.

I have not yet run the QuickTime 7.5.5 installer in InstaDMG (hopefully I will be doing that tomorrow), but it probably is looking for one or both of these settings before letting you do this:
export COMMAND_LINE_INSTALL=1
export CM_BUILD=CM_BUILD
InstaDMG automatically does this, but if you are doing this by yourself, then you should try those two.

FYI I already ran the QT7.5.5 installer in instaDMG and it ran flawlessly….

Generally Quicktime installer runs correctly only if you launch it from the boot disk.
