    Hi there,

I’ve set up the a Mac 10.5.6 Server and successfully activated Netboot Server and NFS.

But I was astonished by the results when netbooting clients. They all log in as the user of the Mac OS I used to create the NBI-File for the netboot server.
I thought the netboot server uses my users from Open Directory to log in (via Kerberos) and also saves all user information (documents, emails, etc) to the servers harddisk, Otherwise logging in on different clients and always getting “my personal” desktop wouldn’t work, would it?

Any help helping me to figure out what I made wrong in doing or thinking is very much appreciated! Thanks!

    Mark.

When you created the OSX client image, did you turn off auto login?

You want the source image to boot into a login window with either a list of users or name and password fields. You will also need to configure Directory Services on the source image, or provide LDAP configuration from your DHCP server.
