So long story short, our open directory master died, we promoted one of our replicas to the master, reinstalled the former master from scratch and connected to the new master as a replica. After all of that we wanted to make the former master, which is now a replica, the master again. Is this possible? Every time we try it tells us that the master is still online, even if we shut the new master off.
It seems there is still something somewhere that points to either the IP or domain name of the old master so that when we try to promote it back to being the master it sees itself as being online and won’t promote?
Any ideas?
