    Hi,

I have http://mail.server.com/WebMail/ configured for squirrelmail. I’m having problems setting the mail server so it allows sending mail to external addresses via the web interface.

    So….
Sending mail with mail clients and via the web interface to internal (@server.com) and external addresses works when done on the server’s subnet (192.168.1.0)
Sending mail with mail clients or via the web interface to external addresses doesn’t work when done from another network (employees at home, etc.). It seems to work for internal addresses, but it’s kind of strange. Mail sent this way comes from [email protected] (the server’s IP), but not from user@domain.

    What am I doing wrong?

Hey I had the same issue. In my case though I did not want people using anything but squirrel, so I set up SMTP relay for loopback (127.0.0.1) and my servers IP address. Had no issues, except the secretary thinks outlook is email. =) hope this helps. 😀

Are you on a dynamic IP, or fixed? Are you using Apple Mail Service, or a different MTA? We have WebMail configured here and it works flawlessly, but we’re on a fixed IP using Postfix as the MTA.

I had the same problem, still do not know what is going on. I am on a fix address.
