Hi all,

I have a mac book pro purchased last month, and i could make it join to my company’s Windows AD. I’ve followed Apple’s document, but that didn’t work.

My company has 3 Windows DCs, one is the primary, and others are replication. There are no firewall between mac and DC.
During my process of joining AD, it always hung at Step5 for about 20 mins, then Directory Access crashed itself. I used `killall -USR1 directoryservice` to open debug mode, and found it stopped at this message :
ADPlugin:Changing Password for User [email protected] as [email protected]
Is anyone have idea about this message? thanks for any reply!

I “think” it may be trying to change the computer account password. I’m not sure if that’s possible (or necessary?) when binding but would usera$ happen to be the computer name it is binding with plus a $? Was there a pre-exisiting computer account in AD already by that name?

If it is the computer password, this may help:
