Problem shifting user data from Appleshare IP 6.3 to 10.3

Hi,

I’m attempting to shift a list of users and groups from AS IP 6.3 to 10.3 server.

I’ve exported the data from ASIP into an XML file and tried importing it into 10.3 using WorkGroup Manager and getting it to send them to the LDAP server.

All the user and group data get there but only some of the users have taken the ‘Precedent’ setting for mail and ability to login. I can’t seem to see any commonality with the users where it has worked by comparison with the ones where it hasn’t.

Anyone come across a similar problem?

I’ve been there 4 years ago moving from 6.5 to 10.2. I didn’t try to automatically move the users, I just recreated them on the server. That way you know what you have.

I worry a lot of things that promised to transfer automatically anything. Unless you have thousands of users, it is only at most an afternoon I guess for a hundred or less. Provided your share point are setup in advance.
