Still having no luck getting PPTP to work by following your article.
I’ve double-checked all the settings; I’ve opened up port 1723 to point to the right computer.
On checking the log file, the connection is getting through the firewall, the CHAP authentication succeeds, but then it says “Could not determine local IP address”. And then disconnects. (I get the same result with the clients in both Jaguar and Win2K).
I’ve checked by pptp_addresses file, and the first five lines are:
192.168.0.101
192.168.0.102
192.168.0.103
192.168.0.104
192.168.0.105
…which are all valid IP addresses for the network.
The only thing I could think of was the naming of files: in the article, you mention pptp_configuration and pptp_address, but on my system I have pptp_service and pptp_addresses. But I tried renaming these and it made no difference.
Please can someone help?
