ParticipantI’ve been trying for 8 hours today (turkey day) to get Postfix and Cyrus to use MySQL for authentication, I can’t even get everything to build correctly (I’m using this tutorial: http://www.delouw.ch/linux/Postfix-Cyrus-Web-cyradm-HOWTO/html/index.html).
Has anyone figured out how to do this? I despertly would like to install my new copy of 10.3 Server on my XServe, but I’m using Exim + MySQL (as per the article on this site) and I can’t just leave all my users without email (obviously).
I wish apple would get their head out of their ass and realize that people want to use their products for more than a $4k workgroup server.

ParticipantI don’t know the answer, but if you find out please let me know!
I was looking for that exact article on this site.
Thanks in advance,

ParticipantIt seems that Postfix installed in Panther Server is not compiled with the approriate options to support MySQL as a back-end.
Any idea to make it work without compiling from sources ?

That’s what I want to know. 😀December 13, 2003 at 6:20 am #357068davidkassa
ParticipantHave you tried compiling from sources, yet? It may be pretty simple from that aspect. Just a few make commands. That is what I had to do with my php to enable GD.
I’m going to be starting on this project very shortly. Hopefully we can figure it out together. 🙂 I finally got my proftpd up and running!

ParticipantQuestion: 10.3 Server has Postfix, Cyrus, Mailman, and Squirrelmail installed. Is this true of regular 10.3? I’m pretty sure not, but the users postfix, cyrus, and mailman are in NetInfo Manager already so I thought I’d ask.
Also is there a way to get the builds that Apple used to install these apps? I’ve only been looking at this for a couple of hours, so….. If they are pre-installed, is the problem that they don’t have sql_auth?
I’m going to look around some more, but any help wold be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
