I am having a problem with my pop mail server. Uses can log into the OSX 10.3.5 server without any problems but when I try and access the pop mail server using the mail client on the server it says it does not recognise the password. I can telnet into the pop server and it accepts the username but not the password. This is the same for all users on the server. I know my password is correct because I can log into the server from a workstation.

there wasn’t a recent change to the server IP address, was there? what is the error you get when you connect to port 110 through a telnet session and try to enter the password?

No the IP of the machine is exactlly the same. When I put pass then the password in telnet it comes up saying that the password is incorrect. I know the password is correct because I can use the same username and password combination to log into the server from a workstation.

Sorry one last thing that might interest you is that this was working fine until a server restart.
