Have followed instructions in the article by apropos re setting up phpMyAdmin for mySql etc.

I can get to the login screen on phpMyAdmin, but then get an error message telling me that my ‘control user’ as setup in the config file is denied access. it’s not actually saying “control user”, but my ‘[email protected]’ as specified in the config.

Have followed the detailed GRANT statements in the article three times, with no errors in Terminal.

Have set a root password, and also added another user as superuser, both *seem* to authenticate ok past the phpMyAdmin login screen to then get the error.

Have tried substituting the full domain of the server for ‘localhost’ for these GRANT Statements.

Have tried switching from socket method to tcp method in the config file.

I’m using phpMyAdmin 2.5.4 dev – is this a problem?

I have no databases yet – is this a problem?

    Where to from here?
