I have a dual 1.33 GHZ G4 Xserve, and I will be soon attaching an Xserve RAID to it via Fibre Channel.

I’ve ordered a new Apple PCI-X Fibre Channel card — is this compatible with the G4 Xserve? Or can someone recommend a more appropriate card?

    Thanks in advance.

It won’t work. You need Apple part M8940G/C for a G4.

Thanks for that info. I just got off the phone with the Apple Store, and they’ve EOL’d that card.

Now how am I going to attach my new Xserve RAID to my old Xserve G4?

The cables that come with that card have the correct ends for the Xraid (the G4 card ends and the Xraid ends are different, G5 is all the same). There is no issue other then the physical connections.
