After a kernel panic on my OD master, many users can no longer log in via AFP. The users can log in via SMB (mac or windows). I switched AFP authentication type from “Standard” (digest-md5) to “Any Method”. At which point users could login via AFP (using Kerberos). They still could not log in from the client login window (network homedir) – the login window is seemingly incapable of Kerberos authentication??? Can’t be so.

Resetting the user’s password fixes the problem.

What sort of weirdness happened to my KDC?
