I’m away from both my server and my documents (on travel all this week), and hope someone out there can bail my [posterior] out. How do I change the password on an account from the command line?

THanks in advance! dave ([email protected])

Does this change the Open Directory password, or just the local account password?

I’m surprised (and delighted – I don’t think I’ve ever felt “delighted” before) to see this post and to test the use of passwd and find that it works. I’d searched for a way to change OD passwords other than the AFP connect dialog for quite years (including posting on afp548), and the only thing I’d ever found was OSXPASS (https://www.afp548.com/article.php?story=20051230121023174).

Does anyone know which version of OS X Server first gave this functionality?
