I tried following through the documentation on this site to get X setup as a PDC using X.2.1, but am unable to get my 2000 or XP boxes to connect.
Anyone know if there are big enough changes with 10.2.1 from the 10.1 versions that will need some tweaking with the process attatched:

If anyone can provide some help or update the documentation that would be great.

What kind of setup is needed for the open directory too?,.

thanks

We are using mac OSX 2.x and are having problems with windows 2000 clients joining a domain where the OS X server is a PDC.

Have you found out if there are any changes in the documentation published here: https://www.afp548.com/Articles/system/sambapdc.html ?

Our problem is getting a windows 2000 client to join the domain. We always get the error “Authentication failed … ” on the client.

What about using Samba with open ldap? There are a bunch of how-to’s on what to do on the x86 side of things. Does anybody thing its possible to use these on OSX so you can authenticate against the OpenLDAP directory already there?
Also does anybody know of a way to automate adding users to the samba file? I work for a school, and this is gonna take a long time if I have to type them all in.
