    Hi!

I have a PowerBook G4 17″ running OS X 10.3.9 (not server). I want to install OS X Server 10.4 (Tiger) as a test server to try out various configurations, etc., for our desktop servers. But, I am a little concerned. I have read that some people have had problems — for example, the combo drive may not recognize DVDs or burn DVDs.

My questions, can I do a clean install (reformat) of OS X Server 10.4 on a PowerBook or do I have to go about this some other way? Or, do I have to forget the whole idea?

    Thanks for any help,
    Charlie

OSXS 10.4 installed fine on my PB G4 1.5 15″. I made a seperate 8GB partition to hold it…haven’t tried burning a CD/DVD from OSXS yet though.
