I set up PDC as described in https://www.afp548.com/Articles/Jaguar/sambapdc.html and it worked beautifully as said. This was done in a simple NI hierarchy, just the root and a local domain. When I changed the NI hierarchy to have ‘root’, ‘staff’ and a local domain things broke. Now when i try /sw/bin/smbpasswd ‘user’ it tries to bind and then it just sits there forever. Logs will show

May 19 16:13:05 kellari /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: /sw/bin/smbpasswd could not be launched prebound.
May 19 16:13:05 kellari /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: /sw/bin/smbpasswd couldn’t be prebound in the past, and probably can’t be prebound now.
    May 19 16:13:05 kellari /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: 2003-05-19 16:13:05 +0300: prebinding for smbpasswd done.
May 19 16:13:09 kellari slapd[431]: Bad IPREMOTEPORT value

    Where should I look?

    jokke h.
