I’m just having a slight problem (probably of my own making) with the Plist installation part of the of the Office 2011 install. I’ve used the Plists (copy, paste, save etc) in the Office 2011 instructions from Deployment.com and installed them in the user home folder (~/Libs/Prefs) not the sys/libs/User Template etc etc. This blew away all the folders in the user folder bar the Libs folder and thus the user account doesn’t work too well. Are you all going to tell me i MUST put them in the sys/libs/user templates etc folder and stop being so silly? I haven’t had time try it today but i’ll re-package them up on monday and put them in the suggested place and i’m guessing all will work splendidly. Thought i would check here for clarification as well.
It *should* work to put them into existing user accounts, but if this is for an image that is being made, it really needs to be in the User Template. This ensures that all users get it properly and that it is uniform across the system.
What exactly is it blowing away? Those plists should really only touch Office 2011 stuff.
hi there
it may be my installer that I created for the plist files. I need to check it and make sure i’ve got it doing nothing nasty. it is deleting all folders in the admin account user folder accept the library folder.
