ParticipantOk file is uploaded to
http://drop.io/uxytg02Contains an applescript droplet and a bash script which must exist in the same folder.
Basically you drag and drop an office update on the droplet and it will modify the update to work with InstaDMG. No backup will be created of the update so keep the update .dmg handy if you need the vanilla update.
The office update package must not be inside a read-only .dmg file or it won’t be able to modify the update of course.
The code is pretty quick n dirty but works 🙂

ParticipantGreat product! I revised it slightly, by just gathering it into a single App bundle, so you don’t have to make sure the shell script is in the same folder, if that makes it easier for anyone – I know I can barely keep track of one thing, two is beyond my ability ;). Here, if anyone wants it.

ParticipantMosen, Jason, you guys are awesome.
THANK YOU.
Much though I poo-poo-ed the efforts earlier, I have since seen the light.
Thank you.

ParticipantThis new solution worked perfectly for me. I believe the reason the manual fix may have previously failed for me was a simple permissions issue — I made the patch on my personal machine, which has different accounts than my testing/master machine.
Thanks for all the effort!

Participanti have been using afp548.com as a general read resource for a long time now, but i have finally signed up just so that i can publicly say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for this fix.
i am a recent instadmg convert, and the information in this thread needs more prominence IMHO! has anyone compiled an online how to/FAQ sort of thing.
it took me a little while to find clearreg and createuser, but i worked out that i’d need that. i spent some time doing the logGen/pkgGen routine (which ALMOST worked – as above it’s just Word that messes up) before i hit on this thread
once again: THANK YOU SO MUCH
