I know this has been discussed, and the answer are usually. “It’s easy”, but I’m just not getting it.

Using Tiger server and clients (10.4.3), can someone walk me through setting up a user that will be managed by OD, but will have a local home folder. PHD sound good, but I want to make sure the user is make changes locally and the sync then pushes the changes to the server, not the other way around.

I understand how to set up the client in Directory Access. What I don’t seem to get is how to set up the home directory in WGM.

Also, what if I don’t want a PHD. What if I just want the user to have a local home directory? I don’t want to set up a local user; I still want the user set up and managed in OD. I just want to user to have a local home directory. How do I set that up in OD (step by step, please, I’m slow 🙂

OK, let me see if I understand. All I have to do is add a user in WGM and now that user can log on from any configured client and that user will have a local home directory on the machine she used to logon with?

What should I see in the Home tab of the suer record, just “None”?
