I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with:
1) If you have an OD Master & Replica configured correctly. Do you just need to add the OD Masters details to the client’s LDAP in directory access/utility? (I know the apple documents say that this failover will work on 10.4+ clients, but does it?
2) Can you bind to OD & AD without issues?
3)When binding to OD, other than adding the Mac Client to the OD server. Is there any other benefits? (i.e. does binding the mac to od allow for the OD settings to be ‘stuck’ better on the Mac).
Basically, we’ve just built 2 x-serves with 10.5 & OD.
They are stable, but we now need to move our clients to point to them. (we have scripts to do this).
As we’re making the changes, i thought i’d see if there is any changes that we could make to our OD that would benefit us.
ATM our clients look are setup in the magic triangle & lookup up their MCX records from OD, but some sometimes lose seem to lose their MCX settings?.
