    Hi.

We have a Windows 2008 server and a Mac 10.7.2 server

We’ve bound the mac clients to both servers and can log in to either, no worries.

Mac users (10.6-10.7) logging in to the AD server suffer very poor performance. I’d like to be able to redirect their home directories to the mac server, but still authenticate against AD.

Do we have to extend the schema on OD to do this?
I’ve tried binding the mac server to AD, but dont seem to be able to edit the AD servers NFSHomeDirectory field.

    thanks.

If i’m understanding your question right, it sounds like all you need to do is edit the user profile paths in Active Directory Users and Computers to point to the home directory share on the Mac server. You will also want to make sure the Mac clients are set to use the unc path from Active Directory.
