    Morning,

Waking up this morning to see my server has exploded was not much fun. All sorts of services had just stopped. It was weird until I saw the main system drive was almost full. Less than 20 Megs remained. After some pruning of files and restarting of services everything seemed to be coming back online. Then I tried to access web based services and no go.

Webserver is up and running but I’m getting a “Error establishing Database Connection Error” So I head over to server admin and check on Mysql. It shows a status of “Shutting Down”. The logs are showing me the error from 3 days ago when we ran out of space. But nothing else. I try to restart the mysqld but there is none. Kind of at a loss at the moment on where to go from here.

How can I force mysql to either shutdown or restart to get all the webservices back up and running?

So figured it out. MySql wasn’t even trying to start. The Launchd task wasn’t even enabled. Re-enabled it and voila. Back to normal. That was fun.
